South London interfaith group lunch

I told the group on Thursday about our meeting and there were some comments about refugees and the probem of reaching them. As my Syrian friend said they don't want to be called refugees! I also got rather passionate about Lambeth closing 10 local libraries and turning them into exercise centres. Events have now seen the occupation of Carnegie library at Herne Hill to prevent the closure! Croydon are also threatening our libraries and Lewsiham have already decimated the service. I am absolutley opposed to professional staff being replaced by volunteers! Our next meeting on the 20th should be interesting. In the mean time get in touch if you tink immediate action is needed.
The do appear to be networks in some areas like Kingston to receive migrants.
